This season, at the Scène de recherche, we’re exploring the role of artificial intelligence in literary translation. As part of this, we’re hosting Vo-Vf, a festival of world literature, for the third time, in partnership with the Department of English Studies at ENS Paris-Saclay.

Can AI truly grasp a play on words or the subtleties of a language?

With Lucy Garnier, a translator from English in the humanities and social sciences, Julien Randon-Furling, a lecturer and researcher in mathematics at the Borelli Center, and Dominic Glynn, an associate professor of linguistics at the University of Évry, we’ll explore the intersection of algorithms, literature, and subjectivity.
