Paleolithic Anachronism! Portrait #02: Gwen
Les Temps Blancs / théâtre inachevé / Victor Thimonier
As an artist associated with the Scène de recherche, Victor Thimonier continues to explore prehistoric imaginaries and their unexpected echoes in our lives.
With this second “Gwen” portrait, he tells the (true) story of a child who, in the Dordogne in the 1980s, discovered a Paleolithic statuette—a Venus figure that, from certain angles, appears to take the form of a male genitalia.
In this prehistoric western, the journey is at times musical, at times scholarly, and sometimes even surreal. A fantastical and comical reverie, where the poignant portrait of a child collides with a mystery emerging from the depths of time.
Victor Thimonier is an artist associated with the Scène de recherche for the 25/26 season
