Betty Tchomanga

This performance will take place in the Goursaud Amphitheater at the Orsay IUT
13 avenue des Sciences
91190 Gif-sur-Yvette

In her choreographic series Decolonial Story(ies), Betty Tchomanga continues her exploration of narratives connecting Africa and the West—those “pasts that refuse to fade away.”

With Mulunesh, she creates a portrait of the dancer Adélaïde Desseauve, caught at the crossroads of transnational adoption, a fragmented memory, and inherited silences. Dance becomes an investigation, a dialogue between Adélaïde and her double, Mulunesh.

Fueled by krump—a dance of rage and resilience—the body tensed, trembled, and responded. How can one reconstruct a history when memories are missing? How can one dance what has been lost?
