Research Life 1
As a sign of the times and the growing importance of this discipline, this first meeting features climatologist Jean Jouzel. A research director emeritus at the CEA, he has devoted most of his career to reconstructing past climates. His work, recognized with the CNRS Gold Medal, has established him as a leading figure in climatology. An associate member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, he served as vice-chair of the IPCC’s scientific panel from 2002 to 2015 and was involved in the preparations for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference.
AFAS Events
In partnership with the French Association for the Advancement of Science, La Scène de recherche is hosting a series dedicated to the careers of renowned researchers. Designed as a conversation, each of these evenings sheds light on and explores the major challenges of a scientific discipline, as well as the stages, difficulties, challenges, and joys of a life dedicated to research.
