• AFTERWORK (Beliefs, Essay No. 34) - Marion Boudier and Guillermo Pisani co-direct the LSDI theater company. Their “Beliefs” series draws on research and public debate to challenge our assumptions.

Two young researchers, colleagues at the university. An after-work gathering. We drink, we dance, we sing. What can—and cannot—these two bodies do in this space? Navigating between desire, power, and the law, this theatrical essay explores our beliefs about gendered roles at work, while reimagining the romantic comedy genre. The writing of this essay began with a dialogue with Johanna Rickne, an economics researcher visiting at CEPS (Center for Economics Paris Saclay), and benefited from the insights of Virginie Descoutures, a sociologist specializing in gender (CURAPP-ESS) affiliated with the Croyances laboratory.

• SOUND SPATIALIZATIONS - Nathanaëlle is a sound artist, performer of musique concrète, and researcher; she directs the MOTUSLAB research laboratory. Paolo Castrini is a composer and acoustic performer. Pierre Couprie is a professor and researcher in musicology at the University of Evry Paris-Saclay.

As part of their long-term residency at La Scène de recherche, researchers and musicians Paolo Castrini, Nathanaëlle Raboisson, and Pierre Couprie are continuing their explorations. Using La Scène de recherche’s sound system and its 42 Dante speakers, they are developing electroacoustic forms specific to this venue. By exploring the full range of spatialization possibilities offered by our speakers, the three artist-researchers are inventing something never heard before, blending electronic music, textural effects, ambient sounds, musical landscapes, and experimentation. La Scène becomes a musical instrument, a mysterious environment where musicological research becomes immediate creation.
