Touch Me, I'm MIDI
Electropop with a lively vibe
Cla Boyriven / Groupe Scalpel
Touch me I’m MIDI is a concert-lecture held in the gardens of the École normale supérieure. Artist Cla Boyriven transforms biological signals into electro-pop music using MIDI controllers. Heartbeats, muscle activity, skin conductivity, and the electrical properties of plants are transformed into sound. The performance alternates with moments of scientific explanation about the electrical currents of living organisms. Somewhere between DIY music and an in vivo experiment, each concert is unique: it depends on the artist’s body, the audience, and the environment—from the breath of plants to the flight of birds.
