The Paris-based ensemble Les Apaches! transforms minimalist music from the 1960s to the present into a playground. From Philip Glass to Steve Reich, Arvo Pärt, and Brian Eno, the works echo one another and unfold. Repeating, shifting, getting carried away: four musicians, a soprano, and a dancer intertwine their artistic languages and become one with the music. Their movements extend the rhythms, follow the variations, and amplify the tensions. (DÉ)PHASÉ explores processes of phase shift: repeated motifs, lines that intertwine and become misaligned. The sound thickens, reference points waver, and a trance sets in.
