•    TO ARMS, CONSTITUENTS! - Eugénie Mérieau is an associate professor of public law at the University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne and a research associate at the International Research Center at Sciences Po Paris.

What if France’s constitutional history could be heard before it is read? To Arms, Constituents! starts from a hypothesis: in every revolution, what is contested through the legal order is a relationship to time and the imagination, crystallized in poetic expressions as so many ways of resisting the present and inventing the future. The performance traverses four revolutionary moments (1789 / 1871 / 1968 / 2018) to convey how power is constituted. The setup relies on a “Constitution” looper (Boss RC-300), which records and frames speech, and a “constituent power” filter pedalboard that transforms and filters this speech before it is enshrined in law. As Antonio Negri writes, “revolution can only be juridified in the form of Thermidor.”

ExTRAS 3 - Julien Guyomard is an author and director. He is the artistic director of the Scena Nostra theater company.

Director Julien Guyomard is in residence at the Laboratory of Climate and Environmental Sciences. Throughout the year, he immersed himself in their daily lives, deciphering their customs and traditions, and delving into their research—from biogeochemical cycles to climate modeling. From these observations will emerge a performance in which climate science research will be decoded, brought to life, and put into perspective.
